FRUITFUL INTENT
This piece is a vessel of contemplation, connection and honoring the power of growth and transformation. “Fruitful Intent” is a work of art that bridges the gap between reality and art itself, you are the art and life is the ultimate art piece. Within the natural cycle of creation is the spirit of the plant, a growing energy within each living being. Each thought is so ripe so fruitful with intent, and each idea is alive, and it can grow! Thoughts are magical energy, and we are the wizards creating our powerful reality. Our energy is the blank canvas and our thoughts, and the words are the paint in which we use to create the painting that we end up living. Life is a reflection of energy and movement. What kind of energy do you nurture in the privacy of your own mind? What kind of energy are you willing to share with others? What kind of reality are we creating as individuals and as a whole? What is the unspoken wisdom of our collective conscience? How are we balancing the vitality of life itself?
The piece will start with each participant answering this one question. In one word what is the fruit of your intention?
Upon answering this question to yourself, you may enter the performance one step further by writing your word down onto a piece of paper and then attach your word to another person’s clothing. This act of attaching your word to another person represents that within all living things as a whole we are interdependent on one another in creating sustainable vitality for all, we are all in this together.
Next step, when ready you will enter the circle in silence and sit down. I will then ask you to freeze your mouth in the word that you have chosen. Your intent will be then captured in a plaster casting of your lips. For about 10 minutes you will sit in complete silents holding your thoughts on your intention while gazing into one others eyes.
Throughout the experience, the sculptures of your mouth will be installed onto this 12ft sculpture. The fruit of our collective intent and the our conscious wisdom uniteed within this sculpture to honor each person’s energy and intention. This sculpture is a powerful portal of manifestation and growing energy which will continue to serve the spirit of the plant within all living beings.
After the sculpture of your mouths will harden you will place your lips into the middle of the circle. A beautiful alter of lips will then be created. This alter represents the unification of our collective wisdom, which will initiate the sacred ceremony, and through guided meditation we will invoke the spirit of the plant. Burning sage and drums will invite you to start actively growing into your own type of plant. What kind of plant are you? How does the wind move you? You will then begin to blossom into the full essence of your vitality. Moving with the spirit of the plant flourishing growing. Slowly we will begin to transform again by moving through the seasons expressing continuous change through the ultimate transformation to death. The spirit of the plant has many gifts to share, but the ultimate gift is of transformation and becoming one with that process and the cycle of life. Slowly coming to the ground we will barry our feet into the earth and surrender to gravity and lie down allowing the ground to support us and feeling nature take over us. laying down in silents we will go into the final pose of Shavasana the corpse pose to conclude our ceremony.
